Fred L. Van Allen, 61, of 5328 Chestnut Avenue died Monday at 1:40 P.M in Longview Hospital, Kingsville. He had been ill for three years.
Born October 4, 1894 in Cleveland, Mr. Van Allen lived most of his life in Ashtabula. He was a carpenter-contractor and built a number of homes in the area.
A member of the First Baptist Church, Mr. Van Allen is survived by his wife, Viola, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Francis Schossler and Mrs. Joesph DeChurch Jr. of Ashtabula; two sons, Arthur and Gordon of Ashtabula; two brothers, Edward of Willoughby and Charles of Wickliffe and seven grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held in the Donald H. Childs Funeral Home Thursday at 2 P.M. Reverend C.L. Sprague, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 P.M.
